After years of banging around with different trades, including commercial marine work on a tramp freighter out of Kodiak, I had settled on carpentry.   This started out with house framing and general residential repair in Fairbanks but evolved into a woodworking and cabinet shop in Juneau.   I had acquired a drawer full of carving tools and graduated from decorative cabinet door corners to full fledged custom exterior door panels.   They were so time consuming they couldn’t really be sold so most ended up as donations.

One became a political statement having to do with the Pebble mine threat in Bristol Bay.
